What helps me to create great designs that solve user problems, forgotten or left unexamined?

Well, thanks for asking!

I value honesty, open communication, creativity and a positive attitude in my work place, and if at all possible, cup after cup of hot tea. I digress… if you know me, you know I am a passionate designer, hell bent on making this world a better place, one deliverable at a time. I’m not afraid to ask the hard questions or to put in the extra time to make sure a product is just the way goldilocks would want it.

My career journey has been a diverse mixture of science, medicine and fine art. I have always been driven by an innate curiosity and the desire to infuse empathy throughout systems and processes. I am a life long learner and I plan to stay that way.

For over 15 years, I have been a freelance graphic designer and illustrator, consulting on everything from websites to iOS apps.  I have spent the last several years honing my user experience design skills, and am currently enrolled at the University of Washington in the Master’s of Human Centered Design and Engineering program.
